Hand-decorated tapers,
made in small collections.

Studio Laetitia is a Berlin-based candle studio creating hand-decorated taper candles in small, considered collections. The cream tapers are made in Europe; every motif on them is cut and placed by hand in my Berlin studio.

Candles have always been part of my life. I've collected them for as long as I can remember, lit them on weeknights for no reason, given them as gifts and kept far too many on my windowsill. Today, Studio Laetitia is still a one-woman operation, usually with my dog Emil somewhere nearby.

A few months ago, while looking at my own collection, an idea came to me for a new way of decorating them. I had always loved simple, colourful candles, but wanted to create something with a little more character.

That idea still guides every collection. I chose a warm, soft cream as the base and let the motifs bring colour and personality. The candles are meant to catch your eye, but never compete with the moment around them. They are there to add to the table, not take it over.

After a lot of trial and error in my living room, I had something I genuinely loved. Studio Laetitia is the result. They are the candles I always wanted to find but never could.

I work in small collections that follow the year. Love, Little Ones, Reflections, Passion and Emil are here all year round; All Hallows, Winter and Good Fortune arrive with their season. More will follow, one collection at a time.

Every motif starts as a sheet of coloured wax. I cut and finish each shape individually, working with the wax chilled for cleaner edges, before placing it onto the candle by hand.

The candles themselves are made in Europe, and the coloured wax for the motifs comes from Germany. The box and sleeve for each duo set are made from recycled board from France, and I fold every box by hand here in Berlin. I believe in everyone involved being paid fairly for their work. I hope Studio Laetitia grows over time, but the real goal is simple: to make candles that people enjoy having around for the moments that matter to them.
