Smaller hearts, set closer, so the candle reads almost like a pattern. Six to a candle, three to a side, cut by hand from chilled sheets of coloured wax and pressed on one at a time. Gold and silver read like ornaments; bronze warms up an oak table; forest green and burgundy are the ones I light on the days between Christmas and New Year.

Details
How to burn
The wick comes already trimmed to the right length, so you can light it straight away. The motifs are cut from coloured wax and pressed on, not painted on — as the candle burns down, they soften and blend in. If you want to keep the last decorated section as a keepsake, blow it out with about 4 cm to go.
Care
Never leave a burning candle alone. Store your candles somewhere cool and dark — in a warm summer window, coloured wax softens and picks up fingerprints. If a taper warps slightly in transit, roll it gently between your palms for 30 seconds and it'll straighten.
